  • Graduate Apprentice Trainee – Mechatronics:

  • Eligibility Criteria:

    • B.Tech / B.E. in Mechatronics Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Embedded Systems, Computer Science Engineering, or related interdisciplinary engineering streams
    • Year of Graduation: 2023, 2024, or 2025
  • Program: National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS)

  • Key Skills & Knowledge Areas:

    • Simulation & Driving Simulator Fundamentals:
      • Basic understanding of vehicle dynamics, control systems, and mechatronic systems
      • Exposure to simulation concepts, real-time systems, or virtual validation environments
      • Familiarity with driving simulators, HIL/SIL/MIL concepts, or virtual test environments (added advantage)
      • Understanding of human–machine interaction (HMI) principles is a plus
    • Embedded Systems & Software Development:
      • Fundamentals of embedded systems architecture
      • Basic to intermediate knowledge of embedded software development
      • Experience with C/C++ or Python for logic implementation, scripting, or testing
      • Awareness of microcontrollers, sensors, actuators, and communication protocols (CAN, UART, SPI – added advantage)
      • Understanding of real-time constraints and system integration concepts
    • Game Engines & Visualization:
      • Exposure to game development engines, preferably Unity
      • Understanding of 3D environments, scene setup, physics engines, and rendering basics
      • Familiarity with C# scripting in Unity (added advantage)
      • Interest in creating interactive and real-time simulation environments
    • Tools & Platforms:
      • Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
      • Exposure to version control systems such as Git/GitHub
      • Basic understanding of simulation tools, visualization software, or modeling environments (MATLAB/Simulink – added advantage)
      • Awareness of software development workflows and debugging tools
  • Soft Skills:

    • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
    • Ability to learn complex systems and integrate hardware and software concepts
    • Good communication skills for technical discussions and documentation
    • Willingness to work collaboratively in cross-functional simulation, software, and vehicle engineering teams
    • Curiosity and passion for simulation, virtual environments, and automotive technologies
  • Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Support the development and enhancement of driving simulator environments
    • Assist in integrating vehicle models, embedded logic, and real-time simulation components
    • Contribute to Unity-based simulator development, including scene setup, scripting, and interaction logic
    • Support embedded software integration with simulator hardware and interfaces
    • Participate in testing, validation, and debugging of simulator features and scenarios
    • Collaborate with simulation, vehicle dynamics, HMI, and software teams
    • Document simulator features, test results, and development guidelines
    • Learn and apply Volvo Group’s simulation standards, development processes, and best practices
    • Support ongoing digitalization, simulation, and virtual validation initiatives

Eligibility Criteria

  • B.Tech / B.E. in Mechatronics Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Embedded Systems, Computer Science Engineering, or related interdisciplinary engineering streams
  • Year of Graduation: 2023, 2024, or 2025
  • National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS)
  • Strong fundamentals in Automobile / Mechanical Engineering concepts
  • Knowledge of CAE tools such as ANSA, ALTAIR HYPERWORKS, NASTRAN (added advantage)
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
